Kingsway Surgery

After many years of service, Dr Joseph and Dr Takhar who have been running Kingsway Surgery have made the decision to bring their partnership to an end. As it is the partnership which holds the NHS contract, it means North West London Clinical Commissioning Group has no option but to end the contract.   As a result, the North West London Clinical Commissioning Group is putting in place alternative interim arrangements to ensure patient care continues.

North West London CCG has arranged for another Local GP practice to provide this care from 1 April 2022. This is the HESA Medical Centre - located at HESA Primary Care Centre, 52 Station Road Hayes UB3 4DD - and who has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission for the care and services it delivers for its patients.

Following the temporary arrangements, we undertook an engagement programme and invited patients to seek their views about the future options for their care. The NW London Primary Care Commissioning Committee on 2 August 2022 considered the views given by patients, both at the open meetings and in an online survey. The Committee assessed the available options of (i) recommissioning the practice contract from its existing premises, or (ii) inviting patients to register with other practices in the area ('dispersal'), in the light of patient views and against the following criteria:

  • the current patient list size
  • patient access and choice
  • availability of current premises
  • the capacity and capability of the other practices in the area
  • the financial and practical viability of each option

We are writing to advise you that the NHS North West London has taken the difficult decision to disperse the list size.

The temporary arrangements provided by HESA Medical Centre will stop on 30 September 2022. As a current patient of Kingsway Surgery, you will need to register with a GP of your choice before 1 October 2022 in order to continue receiving GP services.

To register with a new GP practice, patients will need to contact the surgery or practice to ask them to register you. You need to live within the chosen practice’s boundary area to be able to register. You can find a surgery near you using the NHS Services directory at www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-gp or www.myhealth.london.nhs.uk. Another website you may like to look at to find out some information about your practice is the Care Quality Commission www.cqc.org.uk.

These websites provide information about practices for e.g. opening hours, staff or patient satisfaction survey results. A list of practices within 1.5-mile radius of the Kingsway Surgery is enclosed in this letter. These practices are all accepting new patients and should accept your registration if you live within the practice boundary area. If you do not live near one of these practices or have since moved further away, please use the NHS websites to find a practice nearer to your home.
